Finding Peace in God's Embrace
Reflections on Creation, Time, and Waiting
Life can feel overwhelming, confusing, and even lonely at times. Yet when we pause to reflect on the beauty of creation and the promises of Scripture, we’re reminded of a profound truth: we are not forgotten. The same God who holds the mountains in place and sustains all things is the One who holds us close, with purpose and love.
He Holds All Things Together
“He is before all things and in him all things hold together.”
— Colossians 1:17
In the hustle of daily life, it’s easy to lose sight of the magnificent tapestry of creation all around us. Yet when we pause to really see it—mountains, rivers, plains, sunsets—we’re reminded of the intentionality and artistry of our Creator.
Even the breathtaking Canadian Rockies or the resilience of Yellowstone after wildfires point us back to the One who holds everything together.
Jesus Christ, the image of the invisible God, is the one through whom and for whom all things were made—and the one who sustains it all. If He holds creation together, surely He can hold you together, too.

You Are Here on Purpose
God has put you into this place on purpose.
It’s natural to feel small or insignificant when standing before the grandeur of creation. But Scripture reminds us that we are not random or forgotten.
Just as God spoke mountains into being and carefully shaped valleys and rivers, He formed you:
- Uniquely gifted.
- Positioned exactly where you are for His glory and for the good of His Church.
- Loved beyond measure, even in seasons of waiting, loss, or pain.
Even when life feels like a wildfire has swept through and nothing makes sense, God is at work—bringing new growth, restoring beauty, and shaping your story.
As Max Lucado writes:
When it seems really dark and painful, and makes absolutely no sense… God is at work.
The God who created and sustains the universe is the same God who is writing your story.
You Are Not Alone
No matter what you are going through… God is with you.
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
— Deuteronomy 31:8
Waiting can be one of life’s hardest tests—whether waiting for healing, for answers, or for a better season.
The story of Joseph reminds us that even in the darkest, most confusing times, God never abandons His people. And the same is true for you:
- God is near, holding you close.
- His love is better than life.
- He rejoices over you with singing.
As you journey through both mountain peaks and dark valleys, take comfort in this promise:
You are securely held in the arms of your loving Creator—and He will never let you go.
No matter where you find yourself today—whether on a mountaintop of joy or in a valley of waiting and pain—you can rest in this assurance: God is with you, working in you, and holding you securely in His embrace. Take heart in His promises, and trust that His love will never let you go.
