Sunday Worship COVID Guidelines - Effective Dec 20
First Reformed Family,
Good Morning,
We are writing to make you aware of some changes the Consistory has made relative to mask usage and seating guidelines at our Sunday morning worship.
Effective this Sunday (December 20) and until further notice, we would ask you to wear a mask as you enter the church but once you are seated in the sanctuary you may take your mask off if you so desire. At the end of the service we ask you to put your mask back on as you leave the sanctuary. We also want you to know that if you are uncomfortable with these guidelines please feel free to wear your mask at all times or you can request the option of sitting near the back of the church or in our overflow seating located in the fellowship hall where the service is shown on a large screen.
We will continue to practice social distancing in our seating measures. The sanctuary will be set up so that people will be seated in every other row. This will keep us 6 feet apart from front to back. We continue to ask you to be mindful of the need to sit 6 feet apart side to side as you are seated. Entire families may sit together but please keep 6 feet between your family and others seated next to you.
Our Elders and Deacons will continue to usher you to your seats at the start of the service. They will do their best to seat you where you would like to sit as long as seats are available. Ushering is done to help maximize and direct seating. At the completion of the service they will also usher you out of the sanctuary starting with those seated at the back and then moving toward the front (this procedure is used to help minimize the formation of lines as people exit).
We are seeing a steady increase in the size of our crowds at both services and we are very excited that this happening. It is our hope that this communique will help you understand the social distancing guidelines we have in place and also help you know what to expect when you come to church. If you are still uncomfortable with coming into places of large gatherings please take the opportunity to watch our services on local TV (channels 22 or 77), Facebook, YouTube, Roku, FRC APP (available at app stores) and at frcoc.org.
We are hopeful that this clarifies some things for you at this time and we are looking forward to the time when we can all be back worshipping together again!
